Details TQ 61 SE ASHBURNHAM KITCHENHAM ROAD 28/2E The Bridge between the Lakes at Ashburnham Place. 3.8.61 II Designed by George Dance about 1780. Ashlar. Round-headed arch with moulded archivolt. Cornice above the parapet. Pier in the centre of each side topped by a flat pediment. At each end of the parapet is an octagonal pier with flat cap. Then come curved portions ending in round piers on octagonal bases. Beyond these again, the wall curves round to further square piers, which on the east side form a pair flanking a flight of steps down to the lake which were for the use of boots.
