Details First World War memorial, erected around 1920, with Second World War additions. DESCRIPTION: Stoke Ferry War Memorial is located in the Town Square, adjacent to All Saints’ churchyard, High Street, Stoke Ferry, Norfolk. It comprises a c.3m rough-hewn grey granite wheel-head cross on a tapering plinth with a two-stepped stone base with four low stone bollards at each corner of the wide lower step. The lower part of the shaft and the front face of the plinth bear the inscriptions on marble panels. The inscription is incised and blacked and reads: IN/ HONOURED/ MEMORY OF/ OUR GALLANT/ FALLEN FROM/ THIS VILLAGE/ IN THE/ GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1918// (NAMES)/ WORLD WAR 1939 – 1945/ (NAMES).
