Details STOKE BY NAYLAND 922/0/10049 War Memorial in the churchyard of St M 31-MAY-01 ary's Church GV II War memorial. c.1920. Ashlar. Memorial is in the form of a churchyard preaching cross. An octagonal stepped base supports a square plinth which becomes octagonal at the top. From this rises a crucifix, the cross with Christ and the octagonal shaft all in one. On the plinth are inscribed the names of the Fallen in both World Wars. This finely-detailed memorial forms a group with the nearby Church of St. Mary (qv). Listing NGR: TL9869836274 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
