Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 26/06/2014 SD 84 SE 7/72 BLACKO Blacko Tower, also known as Stansfield Tower (Formerly listed as Blacks Tower, BROGDEN) II Folly tower. A plaque reads Built by/J Stansfield/1890/Restored/1950/Ps 127 v 1. Approximately 30ft high. Built as a folly. Circular. Coursed rubble. Widely spaced battlements. Two steps up to plain doorway. Spiral stone staircase inside leading to observation platform. Prominent hilltop landmark. (Ps 127 v 1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.
