Details WOLVERHAMPTON SO89NE STAFFS AND WORCS CANAL 895-1/4/174 Wightwick Lock and Bridge No 57 II Lock with bridge to west. c1770. By Brindley, Simcock and Dadford, engineers. Brick with stone dressings. Bridge has segmental arch with ashlar jambs, hood and coping. Oval plate with lettering: WIGHTWICK/NO 57/ BRIDGE. Lock has single upper and double lower gates; overflow to south. One of James Brindley's first locks.
