Details SO 8693-8793 13/155 WOMBOURNE C.P. STAFFORDSHIRE AND WORCESTERSHIRE CANAL Bridge No. 46 (Bumblehole Bridge) and associated lock GV II Canal bridge and lock. Circa 1770 with minor C19 repair work. Red brick (English bond). The bridge has a single segmental arch with stone quoins and dripstone; the stone coped parapet slopes considerably from right to left. The lock lies to the rear. Bridge, lock and associated cottage (q.v.) form a picturesque group. The Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal opened through Wombourne parish in 1770, the engineer was James Brindley.
