Details NY 8837 38/257 STANHOPE ST. JOHN'S CHAPEL War Memorial GV II War Memorial. Circa 1919 by Beattie and Co., Carlisle. White marble. 2 metre- high square pedestal supports life-size figure of soldier, hands resting on rifle and head bowed. Inscriptions include: '1914-19'; to Great War and Second Great War dead, and to the 7 airmen who died at Green Laws in 1943. Listing NGR: NY8849337956 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
