Category B Date Added 08/12/1971 Local Authority Orkney Islands Planning Authority Orkney Islands Parish St Andrews And Deerness NGR HY 52327 08857 Coordinates 352327, 1008857 — Possibly late 18th century to early 19th century with later additions. Small single storey, rectangular-plan burial vault within rectangular-plan walled burial ground, sited to SW of hall. VAULT: coursed rubble. Doorway with iron gate in W gable; (later) heraldic panel to gablehead above. Graded flagstone to slightly curved, pitched roof. INTERIOR: mural tablets dated 1947 and 1950. BURIAL GROUND: roughly rectangular-plan burial ground with rubble walls; stone flight to E wall with replacement iron gates; single storey rectangular-plan, crowstep-gabled store forming NE angle; harl-pointed; stone tiled roof. — The vault it is the burial place of the Baikie family to whom the hall passed around 1830. Probably a remnant of the Old St Andrew's Chapel.
