Details SIDDINGTON C.P. (Off) PEXHILL ROAD SJ 87 SE 7/100 Siddington Manor (formerly listed as s Thornycroft Hall). 25 7 52 GV II House. Late C18/Early C19. Rendered brick with stone dressings. Two storeys. Entrance Front: 7 bays. Stone plinth. Projecting porch to third bay from left with pairs of Ionic pilasters to either side of double central I glazed doors with fanlight over. Entablature above. To either side are sash windows of 3 x 5 panes with stone sills. Stone band between floors having aprons with raised diamonds falling between window bays. First floor windows of 3 x 5 panes all being C20 replacements. Parapet above with moulded cornice and sunken panels above windows. The four bays to the right are of a faster rhythmn than those to the left indicating a possible later addition. Interior: Remodelled extensively c1913. Billiard hall: panelled ceiling and door of 6 panels. Drawing Room: Bowed window of three French windows. Adam style ceiling decoration with central roundel. Library: Adam style decoration with central ceiling roundel and deep frieze to upper wall with roundels and swags. Staircase hall: Raised and fielded panelling to walls. Decorated lintels to doors which have 6 panels each and Art Nouveau beaten brass door handles and plates. Staircase is L-shaped with open string and spiral balusters, deep handrail and panelled newels. The landing supported on wooden consoles carved with foliage motifs. Upper landing has a screen of 2 paired fluted Ionic columns with paired columns to sides and semi-circular arches over.
