Details First World War memorial of 1921, with later additions. DESCRIPTION: the war memorial stands in a prominent location beside the church of St James in the main village square. It comprises a stone floriated Maltese cross surmounting a tall, circular tapered column set on a circular plinth. This is set upon a circular five-stepped base. The inscription on the plinth reads: 1914-1918/ 1939-1945. This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 5 December 2016.
