Details SJ 52 SE SHAWBURY C.P. SHAWBURY 9/134 Shawbury Bridge - GV II Bridge. Mid-C18, widened in 1936. Red and grey sandstone ashlar. 3 round arches with archivolts and raised triple keystones. Breakwaters with concave tops. Planking pilaster buttresses, string course and parapet. Angled wing walls The Bridge was widened to the south in 1936. Stone in southern parapet inscribed: "SALOP C.C./SHAWBURY BRIDGE/ WIDENED 1936". The bridge carries the Shrewsbury-Market Drayton road over the River Roden.
