Details 1. BATH ROAD 1042 (North Side) Shane's Castle ST 9961 1/186 14.12.71. II 2. Circa 1840-50. A small 2-storey, stone building consisting of an octagon joined to a rectangle of same width with splayed angles on plan, and with a small square 1 storey porch opposite centre of East end and joined to the Octagon by a narrower passage. The 2-storey block has a battlement cresting with moulded coping on moulded string. At the junction of the octagon and rectangle on the North side is an angular bay stair turret, with slit lights. The South front has 4-light casements and ledged door in 3-centred pointed and splayed arched surround; on rectangle, with additional small casements on splays of octagon. The North side has two 4-light casements, stair turret and similar windows to splays of octagon, secondary door in link to porch. The porch has a blocked arched opening facing East.
