Details SADDLEWORTH POTS AND PANS SE 00 NW (north of Greenfield) 4/240 Saddleworth War Memorial II War memorial. "Erected by the people of Saddleworth 1923". Architect - C.B. Howcroft, builder C.Winterbottom. Ashlar. Large obelisk on stylobate with rolls of honour attached to each side. Carved sword, reeded band and a wreath on each face of the obelisk. One inscription reads "True love by life - true love by death is tried. Live thou for England - we for England died". Listing NGR: SE0101805120 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
