Category B Date Added 28/07/1987 Local Authority Glasgow Planning Authority Glasgow Burgh Glasgow NGR NS 57072 67513 Coordinates 257072, 667513 — Thomas Somers and Considere Construction Ltd engineers; 1926-9. 3-arch bridge over River Kelvin at Queen Margaret Drive. Reinforced concrete faced with polished red sandstone; solid red granite parapet. Main segmental arch spans river; subsidiary round arches over Kelvin Walkway. Lesser arches set in boldly banded masonry with cornice over in manner of a triumphal arch. Solid polished granite parapet; over subsidiary arches, piers linked by balustraded parapet. Wide curved splayed approach to both sides.
