Reinforced concrete faced with polished red sandstone; solid red granite parapet. Main segmental arch spans river; subsidiary round arches over Kelvin Walkway. Lesser arches set in boldly banded masonry with cornice over in manner of a triumphal arch. Solid polished granite parapet; over subsidiary arches, piers linked by balustraded parapet. Wide curved splayed approach to both sides.
