Details The memorial is of granite stone construction, is 2.57m high, with a tall shaft, on a plinth and two-stepped base, surmounted by a Celtic cross. The north face of the plinth bears the following inscription in black-painted lettering: FINIS OPUS CORONAT/ TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ THE OLD BOYS OF POOLE SCHOOL/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1918 The south, east and west faces of the plinth bear the names of the fallen. This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 7 December 2016.
