Background
History
Established back in 1900, Ponteland United have been a local grassroots football team for over 100 years. The club officially joined the Northern Alliance in the 1983–84 season, marking the beginning of a rich local football history. In their inaugural season, Ponteland finished 9th out of 14 teams, laying the foundation for their future endeavours. Subsequent seasons saw fluctuating performances, with notable finishes including a 4th place in the 1984–85 season and a 2nd place in the 1996–97 and 1998–99 seasons.
