Category C Date Added 19/12/1979 Local Authority Fife Planning Authority Fife Parish Dunfermline NGR NT 07496 83308 Coordinates 307496, 683308 — 18th century. Wide pier of dry, coursed sandstone boulders. Stone steps to E. 19th century central shelter wall on pier. — Limekilns was the medieval port for Dunfermline. It continued to be used as a commercial port until the mid 19th century when it was superseded by the improved harbour at Charlestown.
