Details PETERSFIELD 847/0/10011 HIGH STREET 13-NOV-01 War Memorial GV II First World War memorial. 1922; by Inigo Triggs, of Unsworth Triggs and Goulder. Portland stone. Italian Mannerist style of Michelangelo. Comprising a pedestal with a moulded plinth and cornice, above which there is an aedicule on each side with a broken segmental pediment, thin panelled pilasters and an eared architrave to an inscribed panel. Surmounted by a large baluster-like finial with a torch of rememberance. An unusually designed First World War memorial, in the town centre. This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 6 December 2016.
