Details SJ 58 SW FORMER RUNCORN U.D. OLD QUAY STREET 5/104 Old Quay Bridge II Swing bridge over Manchester Ship Canal circa 1894. Steel segmented arched rivetted structure with lattice parapet, built up stanchions, cross braces and bracing across carriageway at high level.The bridge is operated from the south bank by means of a hydraulic system which involves the use of a group of three slate roofed red brick buildings:- The Engine House which contains two Crossley diesel engines and pumps, one set always in reserve, the Accumulator Tower which houses the giant gravitational piston, and the Control Building. These buildings have blue brick plinths and arches, stone heads and window sills, timber windows and hipped roofs. History

Old Quay Bridge is a swing bridge across the Manchester Ship Canal between Runcorn and Wigg Island, built circa 1894. It took its name from the Old Quay Canal, a now defunct canal which is more commonly known as the Runcorn to Latchford Canal.
