Category B Date Added 12/01/1979 Local Authority South Lanarkshire Planning Authority South Lanarkshire Parish Dalserf NGR NS 79340 51035 Coordinates 279340, 651035 — Dated 1817. 3-span cream sandstone segmental-arched bridge. Solid droved ashlar parapet with flat ashlar cope and droved string course below. Polished semicircular-plan piers with semicircular refuges above polished semicircular cutwaters; thick string course between. Bull-faced spandrels and voussoirs; droved soffits and polished abutments; date panel and inscription to NW terminal, partly re-erected, 1985. — Opened in 1818 to carry the Edinburgh-Ayr turnpike, the Garrion Bridge was, at the time, the only dry crossing point over the Clyde between Lanark and Bothwell.
