Details MATERIALS: Portland stone. DESCRIPTION: the memorial comprises a wheel-head cross with octagonal arms set upon an octagonal tapering shaft surmounting a square plinth. This is set upon a square two-stepped base. The plinth bears the inscription in incised, black-painted lettering which reads MORGANS VALE AND WOODFALLS/ IN MEMORY OF OUR GLORIOUS DEAD/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918/ (NAMES). On another face the inscription reads 1939 – 1945./ (NAMES) and on another the inscription reads PALESTINE, 1946./ (NAME)/ MALAYA, 1952./ (NAME). This List entry has been amended to add the source for War Memorials Online. This source was not used in the compilation of this List entry but is added here as a guide for further reading, 16 December 2016.
