Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 23 May 2023 to correct a typo in the description and to reformat the text to current standards SK 3435 393/6/10051 UTTOXETER NEW ROAD (South, off) Monument to Robert Pegg in the General Cemetery II Monument. 1867. Polished granite and ashlar with cast iron railings. Square ashlar base with ornate iron railings and prominent corner balusters. Grey chamfered base. Above red block inscribed:- "To the memory of ROBERT PEGG Esq/ A Magistrate of this borough/ Born July 22nd 1801/ Died June 21st 1867". Left face inscribed to his wife SARAH. Above large red granite column with moulded grey base, ring and capital. Topped with shallow red granite pyramid.
