Stepped granite rectangular-plan plinth; bronze tablet to W face depicting battle scene; pulvinated bronze band; surmounting bronze figure facing E. W face reads "Erected by public subscription 1859." E face reads "Aide-de-Camp to the Queen, Lieutenant Colonel in the Madras Army. Brigadier General in India. A brave, resolute, self-reliant soldier, universally acknowledged as the first who stemmed the torrent of rebellion in Bengal.
