Single storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan classical cottage with pedimented Corinthian-columned entrance porch. Squared, rock-faced sandstone to entrance elevation. Base course; wreathed frieze; dentils to blocking course; margins to window openings. W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: square-headed opening to entrance porch; glazed timber door; letterbox fanlight; flanking single windows. S ELEVATION: gabled; lean-to conservatory to ground floor. E ELEVATION: not seen 1999. N ELEVATION: gabled; blank. 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof; rooflight; stone skews; dentilled, corniced gablehead stacks; polygonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods. INTERIOR: not seen 1999. GATES, GATEPIERS, RAILINGS, DRINKING FOUNTAIN AND BOUNDARY WALL: 2-leaf iron gate to left; square-plan gatepiers with ball finials; decorative iron railings atop boundary wall enclosing site; drinking fountain set in wall to right. — Important for its siting, next to the Burns Monument (see separate list description). Of particular note is the elaborate entrance porch and decorative iron railings. Lean-to greenhouse attached to outer right of main house.
