An inscription on the front face of the base reads IN MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH / WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE / IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 / “GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN”. The names of the men who fell in the First World War are listed on the front face of the column. On another face on the base reads 1939-1945 (NAMES).
