Details A war memorial of 1920s date. MATERIALS: constructed of granite on a stone slab base. DESCRIPTION: the memorial is a freestanding cross with a square profile tapering column and wheel cross surmounting a square moulded plinth and base. The front face (north-east) of the plinth is inscribed in lead lettering: TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF/ THE BRAVE MEN OF LOPEN/ FREDERICK HALL/ FRED PIDGEON/ ERNEST WILLIAM EDMONDS/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR/ COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918. The north-west face has an inscription of 2016: ALSO/ BROTHERS/ GEORGE AND/ WILLIAM HENRY/ GREENHAM.
