Category B Date Added 25/11/1980 Supplementary Information Updated 24/09/2003 Local Authority Aberdeenshire Planning Authority Aberdeenshire Parish Logie-Coldstone National Park Cairngorms NGR NJ 43672 02414 Coordinates 343672, 802414 — Rubble-walled enclosure with cast-iron gates dated 1846. Typical ancient burial ground lying in flat farm land, consisting of rectangular area of raised ground enclosed by low wall to create higher ground level within. Burial ground was formerly hub of Logie parish prior to amalgamation with Coldstone parish in late 18th century to from present Logie Coldstone parish centred upon Newkirk, which is equidistant between 2 ancient burial grounds of Logie and Coldstone. Site contains numerous gravestones from 19th century, including walled and gated enclosure for Farquhurson family dated 1827, and several from the 18th century. Antiquity of site is suggested by St Woloch's stone, standing stone to W of enclosure wall, though no carving can be discerned.
