Reason for designation: Extremely rare example of ancient bridge building technology. One other recorded on Ffordd at Bedd Morris, Newport, Pembrokeshire. History: Dating from pre-1602 (marked on George Owen map) and pre-dating the turnpike road system (c1800). Upper part extensively rebuilt 1988. Exterior: Unaltered very narrow bridge of primitive construction with slightly corbelled drystone abutments. longer stones used for original nine lintels over centre of arch. Original bridge is now some 1.5 m below the raised roadway with modern facing stones and on-edge slate coping to parapet. Location: Situated carrying a minor road from A40 in Llanstinan to E over Afon Cleddau.
