Category C Date Added 16/03/1994 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Parish Kirkmaiden NGR NX 13489 36719 Coordinates 213489, 536719 — Circa 1855. Obelisk-type monument, in memory of Rev John Lamb. Painted ashlar. Obelisk, set on square pedestal with stepped plinth. Rosette studded upper band course to pedestal; W face inscribed "Erected by the Free Church congregation of Kirkmaiden to the memory of their late esteemed pastor the Rev John Lamb . . . departed . . . 1855". Monument set on square base of coursed granite; decorative cast-iron spearhead cresting surmounting base and encircling monument. — The Lamb Monument is situated in front of the former Free Church, which was remodelled for use as a church hall.
