Details NT 93 SW KIRKNEWTON KIRKNEWTON 3/100 War Memorial II War memorial c.1919. Ashlar. Base of 2 square steps and 2 larger square blocks bearing inscriptions. Above a slender tapering shaft with broach- stopped chamfered edges, a moulded top and foliated cross. Inscribed on 2nd step: God asked Britain's homes a costly sacrifice and these ungrudging paid the price.
