Category B Date Added 18/03/1971 Local Authority Highland Planning Authority Highland Parish Kincardine (Highland) NGR NH 60553 89433 Coordinates 260553, 889433 — Dated 1799, probably James Boag; alterations and repairs, Alexander Maitland, 1862. Simple rectangular church, harled with tooled ashlar margins; symmetrical 6-bay south elevation with doors in outer bays; 4 windows, the centre pair being round-headed; single window in east gable; multi- pane glazing. Later 19th century bellcote at west gable apex with weather vane; slate roof. Interior; no interior fittings remain. Burial Ground; coped rubble wall (1838) surrounds burial ground; various interesting tombs and monuments dating from 17th century, including Matheson burial enclosure of 1854. — Church no longer in ecclesiastical use. Parish formerly in Ross and Cromarty County. The initials M A G on the dated door lintel (eastern bay) probably stand for Master Andrew Gallie, the Minister of Kincardine Parish in 1799, who graduated Master of Art King's College, Aberdeen.
