Details First World War memorial with Second World War additions. DESCRIPTION: Itteringham War Memorial is located in the churchyard to the south-east of the Grade II*-listed Church of St Mary. The churchyard also contains the Grade II-listed Memorial to John Fish. The war memorial is of grey granite and takes the form of a rough-hewn, wheel-head cross with a tapering shaft rising from a four-sided tapering plinth. The inscription and names are all carried on smooth, inset panels to the plinth and are in leaded lettering. The inscription is to the east face of the plinth and reads: TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF THE/ MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL/ IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918/ (7 NAMES)/ THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE. To the south face of the plinth is the Second World War dedication, 1939 – 1945/ (NAME)/ ROYAL NORFOLKS/ (NAME)/ ROYAL MARINES/ WE DEAD YOUR DAILY DEBT.
