Details ILTON CP OLD WAY ST31NE 3/95 Ilford Bridge (east) - that portion in Ilton C.P. (formerly listed as Ilford Bridge under Stocklinch C.P) 4.2.58 GV II Road bridge. Probably C18. Ham stone roughly cut and squared, ashlar parapets. Two slightly pointed segmental arches, with segmental-arched band course and parapets; parapets plain without copings as such, the north parapet incised on road side with words 'Ilford Bridge'; slight pilasters to each corner; angled cutwaters on south side. Bridge maintained by the Ilminster Trust, by whom this Curry Rivel to Chard road, via Ilminster was turnpiked in 1759. (Bentley JB and Murless BJ, Somerset Roads, SIAS, 1985).
