Details SD 42NE HUTTON MOOR LANE 3/12 Hutton Manor 11.11.1966 (Formerly listed as button Manor Farmhouse) - II Farmhouse dated 1690, now house. Brick, whitewashed, with graded slate roof. Baffle entry 3-bay plan, with pair of ridge chimney stacks between 2nd and 3rd bays, gable stack at left end. Two storeys. 2-storey gabled porch right of centre, rectangular stone lintel lettered in relief: M ("M" said to stand I M R for "Mair") 1690 and sliding sash window with glazing bars above. All windows in front wall have been enlarged or altered in C.20 and shutters added to those on 1st floor, but hoodmould with label stops over window left of porch, and the ends of another broken by bay window right of porch, are original. Left gable wall, to which an "inglenook" alcove has been added, has remains of similar hoodmoulds on both floors and at garret level. Rear wall windows also altered, but round-headed stairlight window between 1st and 2nd bays, and small square window in line with chimney stack at eaves level may be original. Interior: 2nd and 3rd bays have back-to-back chimney breasts, both with bressummers, hearth in 2nd bay very wide with evidence of fire window in rear wall and salt cupboards each side of chimney; bridging beams ovolo moulded in 2nd bay, chamfered and stopped in 3rd bay; service room doors at lower end of housepart have front surfaces panelled with bolection moulding.
