Category B Date Added 03/08/1971 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Parish Eskdalemuir NGR NY 24806 98622 Coordinates 324806, 598622 — Dated 1702, with repairs 1825 and 1884. Inscribed flat stone (?re-cut lettering) raised on upright slabs on tomb chest arrangement: vertical end slabs probably 1825, long slabs probably 1884. All ashlar. — Inscribed "Here lyes Andr. Hyslop/martyr shot dead upon this place by Sir James Johnston of We(ste)rhall/and John Graham of C/laverhouse...... May 12 1685......"; also "Repaired by subscription April 1825" and "Repaired by Wm Hoope Esq from Liverpool July 1884".
