Details BLYTH VALLEY A 1068 NZ 27 NW 3/14 Hartford Bridge, over the River Blyth (that part in Blyth Valley District) GV II Bridge. C15 or C16, widened 1688, widened again and partly rebuilt 1904. North arch squared stone on east, remainder of east face tooled-and-margined stone, west face snecked rock-faced stone with ashlar voussoirs and tooled- and-margined parapet, with brick soffit to western part. 3 segmental arches. East face shows triple-chamfered C15/16 arch on right, large triangular cutwaters carrying shallow pilaster buttresses; band below parapet, which has chamfered coping. Low end piers. West face shows lower curved cutwaters with moulded cornice, and similar pilasters. Partly in Wansbeck District; group value with Hartford Bridge House (Wansbeck).
