Details HADLEIGH TM0242 HIGH STREET 608/3/10003 The War Memorial 25-AUG-00 II War memorial. c.1920, probably extended c.1945. Ashlar. The 1st World War memorial is a square cenotaph pillar in several stages stepping in towards the top. The plinth has inscriptions to the fallen and the top has coats of arms including that of Hadleigh facing the front. To the rear is the part of the memorial of the 2nd World War which is a finely-moulded panelled wall between two piers with seats and a central pedestal supporting a bolection-moulded tablet with the names of the fallen. The whole is a good quality ensemble. Listing NGR: TM0279242204 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
