Details WATLINGTON GREENFIELD SU79SW 3/172 Greenfield Manor 18/07/63 GV II Farmhouse, now house. Two ranges: early C17 to right, c.1700 to left. Flemish bond brick to right; English bond brick to left. Gabled old tile roof; brick ridge and end stacks. Lobby-entry right range extended to T-plan c.1700. One-storey and attic, 2-window range to right has blocked door, C20 windows and 2 two-light leaded casements reset in gabled dormers (originally half-dormers): two-storey and attic, 2-window range to left has early C20 brick gabled porch, segmental arches over 3-light cross windows (one reset right of porch) and C20 flat arches over second-floor casements set in 2 cross gables. Leaded casement and mid C19 pedimented doorway to rear. Rear wing of c.1700: 2-storey, 2-window range of tile-hung first-floor over Flemish bond brick with flared headers; gabled old tile roof, brick end stack, C18 sash. It adjoins rear left rendered stair-turret. Interior: open fireplace and quartered ovolo-moulded beams, queen-post roof with clasped purlins, to right. Left range has chamfered beams and early C18 dog-leg with landing staircase, with turned balusters on closed string: first floor and attic not inspected.
