Details A First World War memorial located in the churchyard to All Saints Church, Granby. MATERIALS: White limestone DESCRIPTION: the memorial stands in the churchyard of All Saints Church, and is located to the north-west of the tower. The memorial takes the form of an incised wheel cross at the head of a tapered, chamfered shaft. The shaft is set upon a two-stepped base which stands upon a deep, square plinth with a quadrant moulding at the junction with the stepped base. The west face of the plinth carries a metal plaque with the dedication TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN HONOURED/ MEMORY OF THOSE WHO/ GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918 / NAMES / GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS /THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS / ST JOHN XV v 13. There is also a commemorative plaque in the church which records the names of those who fell in the First World War and those who served in the Second World War.
