Category C Date Added 03/08/1971 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Parish Kirkmichael (Dumf & Galloway) NGR NY 04127 90301 Coordinates 304127, 590301 — Quadrangular churchyard enclosing ruins of Garvald old church and 17th-19th century stone monuments. Former church (reputedly rebuilt 1617) is rectangular-plan, remaining walls mostly only several courses high, rubble-built with ashlar dressings. Enclosure walls also rubble-built, with ashlar coping; gate at east. — Church and some stones described in RCAHM INVENTORY, 1920, nos 355 and 355. Garvald Parish suppressed 1660.
