Details ECCLES CHURCH STREET SJ 79 NE (south side) 4/6 Eccles War - Memorial G.V. II War memorial. c.1920. John Cassidy sculptor. Portland stone with bronze sculpture. Angelic figure holding a palm of victory stands on tall tapering square shaft with a moulded plinth. On the front of the shaft is a cast panel, in relief, of a battle-clad figure above an inscription which reads "In memory of those from the Borough of Eccles who gave their lives in the wars 1914-1918 and 1935-1945". Listing NGR: SJ7753798531 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
