Details SP 49 NE TOWN OF HINCKLEY WOOD STREET (south side) 11/58 Earl Shilton War Memorial II War memorial. Circa 1920. Pedestal designed by J.W. Worth with sculpture by A. Smith and inscriptions by E.J. William. Portland stone. Tall cenotaph with cornices at about half-height and at the top, all on a low plinth. Panels with inscriptions in bolection-moulded surrounds below, with volute-brackets above carrying masks and swags. Upper panels with reliefs of saints. Statue of angel on top. Listing NGR: SP4637697745 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 20 January 2017.
