Heritage listing
Details CHAGFORD SX 78 NW 4/259 Dogmarsh Bridge II Road bridge over the River Teign. Circa 1840. Granite ashlar. Single span bridge, a plain segmental vault with massive ashlar voussoirs. The arch springs from vertical abutments with channelled rustication and they project very slightly both sides and rise up to the projecting dripcourse at road level. Like the road it ramps a little to the centre. The parapet has rounded coping and it curves out each end to terminal piers which project externally only. Dogmarsh Bridge is mentioned in C17 documents but that bridge is thought to have been a short distance upstream. Source: Devon SMR The asset was previously listed twice also at List entry 1106091.
