Details PEBMARSH TL 83 SW 3/79 Dagworth Manor - II House. C16, extended c.1965. Timber framed, plastered with some exposed framing, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Main range facing E is much altered, but retains C16 crosswing at right end, with C17 external stack on right return wall, now enclosed by c.1965 extension to right. Mainly one storey with attics, crosswing of 2 storeys. 7-window range of C20 casements, of which 6 upper windows are in gabled dormers. C20 door. Front of crosswing jettied, with exposed joists, renewed bressumer over jetty, C20 braces trenched to outside of exposed studding above. The crosswing is built in 4 bays, of which one is a short bay for the stair, and the rear bay was originally partitioned down the centre. It has chamfered beams and joists with lamb's tongue stops, and original red paint exceptionally complete, a rare feature. The proof that it is original is that it terminates where the joints have drawn; it was ceiled at an early date, and has been exposed in recent years. One original window with 2 ovolo mullions and mouldings in right return wall, now inside c.1965 extension. Queen strut roof. RCHM 10.
