Cornice/corbel-course of bull-nosed granite over 2nd stage; 3rd stage rises to solid arched dome. — Inscribed 'to the memory of Samuel Rutherford Crockett author of the Raiders and other tales of Galloway, a native of this parish, 24 September 1860 - 16 April 1914...'
