Details SK 17 SE PARISH OF LITTON CRESSBROOK UPPER LANE 3/47 (North Side) War Memorial GV II War memorial, c1920 by Boden of Matlock. Rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. Set into the hillside with rubblestone retaining walls, to the road capped by obelisks, to the sides and rear capped by railings. Steps up from the road. In the middle of the enclosure the memorial itself is a gritstone tapering pier on a pedestal base. Inscribed 1914 1919 within a wreath, and Sacred / to the memory of the / Men of Cressbrook / who fell in the Great War. The names of those who died inscribed on the base and sides. Listed for group value only. Listing NGR: SK1698173114 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register.
