Details A First World War memorial, dating from 1922; further inscriptions added after Second World War. DESCRIPTION: the memorial is carved from granite and takes the form of a Celtic-style wheel cross set on a square plinth with a two-stepped base. The structure stands on a square slab. The front (east) face of the plinth is inscribed: TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN/ OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR 1914-1918./ (NAMES). Immediately below, on the upper step, is the inscription: SECOND WORLD WAR 1939-1949./ (NAMES). This List entry has been amended to add the source for War Memorials Online. This source was not used in the compilation of this List entry but is added here as a guide for further reading, 15 December 2016.
