Heritage listing

Details First World War memorial dating from circa 1920, with later additions following the Second World War. MATERIALS: The memorial is constructed from stone. DESCRIPTION: The memorial takes the form of a tall Celtic-style cross with carved Celtic tracery on the front and rear faces. The cross has a rectangular shaft, below which is a tapering plinth on a wide, single-stepped base. There is a plaque fixed to the plinth which is inscribed: IN HONOUR OF/ THE MEN OF CORFE/ WHO SERVED IN/ THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919/ AND/ IN MEMORY OF THOSE/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR GOD, KING AND COUNTRY/ (NAMES)/ THE WORLD WAR 1939 - 1945/ (NAMES).
