Heritage listing
Details First World War memorial dating from circa 1920, with later additions following the Second World War. MATERIALS: The memorial is constructed from stone. DESCRIPTION: The memorial takes the form of a tall Celtic-style cross with carved Celtic tracery on the front and rear faces. The cross has a rectangular shaft, below which is a tapering plinth on a wide, single-stepped base. There is a plaque fixed to the plinth which is inscribed: IN HONOUR OF/ THE MEN OF CORFE/ WHO SERVED IN/ THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919/ AND/ IN MEMORY OF THOSE/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR GOD, KING AND COUNTRY/ (NAMES)/ THE WORLD WAR 1939 - 1945/ (NAMES). This List entry has been amended to add the source for War Memorials Online. This source was not used in the compilation of this List entry but is added here as a guide for further reading, 15 December 2016.
