Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 15 February 2023 to update the name and address and to reformat the text to current standards TL 05NE 6/1 BOLNHURST AND KEYSOE BOLNHURST THURLEIGH ROAD Church of St Dunstan (Formerly listed as Church of St Dunstan, CHURCH LANE) 13.7.64 II* Parish church. C13 origins, C14 details, mainly C15. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Chancel, north vestry, nave, south porch, west tower. Chancel of C13 origins but reworked has south door with pointed head and C15 lowside window, north east and south east windows probably C16, and C19 east window. C19 north vestry. Mid C14 pointed chancel arch. C15 nave: blocked doorway to north wall, flanked by cinquefoiled three-light windows with tracery and embattled transoms at half height; two similar windows and one in C14 style to south wall, but all with C19 tracery. C15 south porch, outer doorway with two-centred head. C15 four-stage tower has diagonal buttresses and pairs of two-light windows to top stage. West doorway surmounted by restored three-light window with C15 tracery. Embattled parapets to tower and nave. Interior: octagonal font to nave; remains of painting of St.Christopher to nave north wall; 1707 and 1727 marble wall monuments to nave north east corner; screen C15 but much restored; some C16 pewing; fragment of C15 glass to nave north east window showing the Virgin; 1853 east window initialled by W. Holland of Warwick; organ case by Pugin (Pevsner p.58) C19 chancel roof, nave roof restored C17.
