Category B Date Added 25/03/1971 Local Authority Highland Planning Authority Highland Parish Edderton NGR NH 71025 84715 Coordinates 271025, 884715 — 1842. Style of James Smith. Imposing, Gothic facade; tooled coursed rubble, tooled ashlar dressings. Centre projecting tower with square base as Minister's porch with centre door, 2 octagonal stages with pointed-headed Y-traceried window above, and louvred windows in second stage terminating with bellcast slated octagonal spire with weathervane. Tower flanked by two large 3-light traceried and mullioned Gothic windows and by shallow projecting gallery stairwells in outer bays; pointed-headed windows in ground and 1st floors of outer bays, each bay with wide angle pilasters, angle pinnacles and centre pediments with trefoil motif. 3-bay flanks with centre projecting porches, flanked by blocked Gothic windows with 3 similarly shaped windows above. Intersecting astragals to windows; piended platform slate roof. Interior; 5-sided panelled galleried interior; gallery supported on fluted cast-iron columns; pulpit replaced and lowered; original ogee octagonal sounding board, with delicate Adamesque "stucco duro" detailing on frieze. — Ecclesiastical building in use as such. Gallery partitioned off and now disused. Sounding board and former pulpit similar to those at Rosskeen Church (by James Smith)
